Brian Regan

I like to laugh. A lot. I'm pretty simple and easy to entertain. It's really too bad I don't have a better sounding laugh. Anytime I hear myself laugh on video, I'm always thinking, "who is that with the goofy laugh? Whoa whoa, whoa...is that me?" But I've never let that stop me. I just keep laughing - it's too much fun to give up.

I'm also easily amused. So easy in fact, that sometimes I even think I'm pretty funny and laugh at my own thoughts. I've grown up around a lot of funny people too. My family was always pretty funny - my dad especially. I had a lot of funny friends. My boss, Dean is very funny. My wife flies under the radar as being hilariously funny. Then, after that, pretty much anyone else after 2am usually seems pretty funny.

During the first year of our marriage, Alicia and I were given tickets to go see Bill Cosby live. We went with a couple of dear friends of ours, Bruce and Karen Smith. That was amazing, to see someone that good, in person. We still remember many of those jokes he gave at the time.

Since then, most of the comedy we're around is in our home. The kids are always doing something to bring in the laughs. But for Christmas, my sister Heather got Alicia and I tickets to see one of our all-time favorite comedians: Brian Regan. He performed live at the Schnitzer Concert Hall in downtown Portland. We drove downtown, found a great parking spot and ate dinner a block away from the show. It was a packed house and really cool place to watch him perform. The opening act was a guy named Kermit Apio. Funny. When Regan came out and did his thing, he lived up to the everything we had hoped for - his whole act was stuff that we'd never heard - and had us rolling. It was two hours of laughter. Since I like laughing, it worked out well.

In case any of you enjoy laughing, I've posted a couple of my favorite Regan performances that I think are pretty darn funny. Enjoy. I've also posted a couple of photos from our night on the town.
