Sheesh! I'm as good at keeping up my blog as I am my journal. So, some MINOR details that need to be filled in over the past 2 or 3 months: For one, Macy started Kindergarten, which officially denotes school, and homework for many, many years to come in her life. Which also denotes volunteering and homework for many, many years to come in my life. Macy is totally in her element at school though - and she really loves it.Another event was us taking the kids miniature golfing for the first time. Drake putts as if he's holding a driver and the hole is just a touch inside the 200 yard marker. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured.

I have to say, though, he's got a nice swing for a 2 year old. Just stand eight or nine feet away from him when he's swinging.Oh, and one other "little" event that happened was the whole 'us having a baby' thing. Nakae David Sanders was born July 24th. He's a lot of fun to play with. In fact, we all fight over time we get to sp
end with him - thus I haven't had much time to blog (count that as my excuse for the delay). The kids love him. Macy is always wanting to help out, by holding him, or rocking him to sleep - and she's a lifesaver in the van when he's cranky - she sings lullabies until he calms down. Drake just keeps wondering when his little brother will start tossing the football with him and wrestling. But Drake is fairly satisfied for now with occasional hugs (in which Nakae has a look of "what's going on - and why am I being smashed?") and with the frequent "toots" (in which Drake just starts laughing and pointing at him). And I guess that's a good enough bond for boys.
Nakae is actually a great baby. He smiles a lot, eats well, sleeps great day and night, I think - I mean, I sleep great at night... although Alicia seems to be getting up every couple of hours for some reason - but I try to ignore the noise she makes. Anyway, I can't complain - and we feel exceptionally blessed to have the kids we have. Even if they don't seem to listen to us. Ever. But I can't really blame them. We talk about manners and brushing teeth and keeping clothes clean and sharing with each other. In reality, they'd probably be all ears of we started talking toys, cartoons, ice cream, piles of dirt or mud, Disneyland and free Costco samples. Go figure.
